After vocally opposing the use of castration drugs to punish convicted sex offenders, the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) is now advocating for those very same drugs to be used on children to turn them into transgenders.
About a year ago, the ACLU declared a law in Alabama requiring that convicted sex offenders be forced to take castrating pharmaceuticals as punishment for their sex crimes to be unacceptable. Randal Marshall, the former executive director of the ACLU of Alabama, said chemical castration amounts to “medical experimentation,” adding that it “has no basis in the medical community.”
ACLU of Alabama policy analyst Dillon Nettles added that the law “presents serious issues involving involuntary medical treatment, informed consent, privacy, and cruel and unusual punishment.”
Fast-forward a year and now the ACLU is openly advocating for medroxyprogesterone acetate, the same drug in question, to be used as a “puberty blocker” in underage children. Suddenly, medroxyprogesterone acetate has a basis in the medical community, apparently. (Related: Body care product manufacturer Pantene also supports mutilating the genitals and endocrine systems of children.)
Calling use of this drug in children “gender affirming care,” the ACLU now claims that medroxyprogesterone acetate is “medically necessary” and even “life-saving” – just so long as it goes into the body of a child rather than a convicted sex offender.
Chase Strangio, deputy director of the ACLU LGBTQ and HIV Project, is parading in support of the castrating drug, calling its use “gender affirming care” on behalf of the entire ACLU organization.
“We won’t allow Governor Abbott to attack and criminalize healthcare for trans youth,” the ACLU tweeted in support of medroxyprogesterone acetate, which is on the chopping block in the Lone Star State as a legal drug for use in children.
“Trans people of Texas – and everywhere – we are with you,” the ACLU added.
So which is it, ACLU: Do you support medroxyprogesterone acetate or do you oppose it? Or is it that you oppose it as a punishment for criminals, but support it for confused children who need guidance for their mental illness, not drugs and surgery to brand it permanently into their bodies?
The ACLU is so committed to seeing children castrated with pharmaceuticals that it is suing the state of Texas for trying to outlaw the practice as a form of child abuse.
Keep in mind that medroxyprogesterone acetate is not approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for use in castrating children. This is an off-label use that, were it not protected through political correctness, would be considered a criminal act.
Remember when doctors were losing their medical licenses over the prohibited prescription of hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) and ivermectin throughout the Wuhan coronavirus (Covid-19) plandemic? That is how off-label prescriptions are treated whenever they do not meet political correctness guidelines.
In this case, because transgender-izing children is in vogue, off-label prescription of puberty blockers is praised by the Left and by the ACLU, which is almost always on the wrong side of these types of issues.
Another drug, leuprolide acetate (Lupron), is similarly prescribed off-label as a puberty blocker. This drug is likewise used to chemical castrate convicted sex offenders, which is its originally approved use.
Jennifer Pritzker, a leftist, transgender billionaire, donated six figures to the ACLU last year to advocate for more transgender mutilation of children. The Pritzker family, which is heavily pro-trans, also donated some $15 million to Chicago’s Lurie Children’s Hospital, which proudly administers sex change attempts to children.
